Final Report to Governor due December 1, 1998

The Governor created the Solid Waste Management Task Force in January 1998 (Executive Order 01.01.1998.03).

The Task Force is to examine issues relating to solid waste management in Maryland. It will evaluate local siting, planning and authorization procedures for solid waste facilities and assess State procedures, policies, and authority for solid waste permitting. The Task Force also will consider the merits of exporting or importing solid waste and clarify the responsibilities of local and State governments for solid waste management.
