Annual Report to Governor & General Assembly due Dec. 1 (through 2001).

The Task Force on Charitable Giving (known as Maryland Gives!) was formed in 1996 (Chapter 383, Acts of 1996). The Task Force is to develop a strategy to increase contributions to charities in Maryland by individuals and corporations.

Under the Task Force, four subcommittees have organized. They will analyze the effect of increased charitable contributions on the Maryland economy; determine the best way to use public relations resources; compile data about charitable giving and activity in Maryland; and study Maryland tax laws and State policies affecting charitable donations. Authorization for the Task Force ends December 1, 2001 (Code 1957, Art. 41, sec. 18-310).
